Rare Snow in Eugene

Laura and I woke up this morning to a rare sight in Eugene...SNOW! We had travelled home from Corvallis (God's Country) the night before and not seen even the first sign of snow. Even going to bed at 12:00 a.m. didn't show any signs of the fluffy white stuff. But at 7:00 a.m. this morning...WA-LA! And as of the writing of this BLOG entry (1:26 p.m.), it's still coming down. We have about 5 inches right now.

Laura is absolutely elated about the snow. Being raised in Lewiston, Idaho gave her a special love for it as a kid. Now she's a big kid in the snow. I must say though, I feel bad about something I did. Laura was going out to get Saturday's mail on Sunday (today), and I decided to form a nice snowball for throwing at my sweetie (this snow is super wet, so it packs very hard). Well, I meant to hit her with the snowball in the back, and I ended up beaning her right in the head! I felt horrible, but she survived the big snow ball to the head. So I went out to shake the trees and got my own dose of snow all over my head. Serves me right!
